ABOUT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY
Muscular dystrophy is a collective name for a range of neuromuscular
conditions. It is characterised as a progressive weakening, wasting
and loss of _muscle_ mass over time. It can present at birth,
childhood or manifest later in life.
POSITION DETAILS

CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time, fixed term position covering maternity
leave.

Commensurate with experience.
HOURS: 8 hour day, **Apply on the website** hours per week, one hour
paid break. Hours of work are 9am-5pm.
REPORTS TO:?MDI Head of Services.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The job will cover maternity leave for the Respite Services and
General Administrator. MDI operates a number of respite services,
including access to personal assistants, counselling, play therapy,
and Camps and Adult Holiday Programme. The holder of this position
will be responsible for the general office administration associated
with the management of the Personal Assistance Programme, Camp and
Adult Holiday Programme, performance, monitoring and reporting, policy
development, grant applications and other relevant general office and
administration tasks.
The General Project Worker will complete general project work as
required by the Head of Services and CEO in line with the strategic
direction of the organisation.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
_RESPITE SERVICES_
* Administration, management, control and oversight of MDI?s
respite services.
* Liaise with members, families and staff to deliver a service that
meets their respite requirements.
* Co-ordinate the selection, recruitment, training, support and
supervision, general administration and tracking of personal
assistants.
* Maintain the MDI?s panel of personal assistants.
* Carry out the administration associated with
* MDI?s Camps and Adult Holiday Programme.
* HSE service level arrangements
* the development of MDI policies
* grant applications.
* Maintain and update tracking tables associated with our respite
services.
* Maintain and update key performances indicators (KPI?s).
* Build and maintain relationships with relevant third party service
providers.
* Complete other relevant general office administration tasks as
required by your line manager.
_GENERAL PROJECT WORK_
* Complete general project work as required by the Head of Services
and CEO in line with the strategic direction of the organisation.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all MDI staff, such
as, Family Support Workers, Youth Workers, and staff in Transport,
Fundraising, PR, etc.
* Participate in support and supervision with your line manager.
* Attend team meetings and staff training as required.
* Carry out any other duties that may be required by the
organisation to fulfil the needs of the post.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
_ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS_
* Two years? experience in a busy office setting.
* Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite) with relevant
qualification.
* Excellent administration and time management skills.
* Excellent organising skills.
* Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Attention to detail.

* Experience of project management.
